Sources and methodology

Accumulated values use compounding: [product of (1 + rate/100) − 1] × 100. Percentages are not added together. The last 12 months include complete months only. The year and the last month in daily series may be partial.

Accumulated returns use published effective daily rates, without filling weekends or holidays. The final month in a daily series is marked partial until observations from the following month are available.

The headline and chart show CDI annualized on a 252-business-day basis (SGS 4389). Accumulated values use daily CDI (SGS 12), before taxes and fees.

History on this page starts in January 2000.

Frequently asked questions

What is CDI and how does it affect investments?

The DI rate, commonly called CDI, reflects very short term transactions between financial institutions. CDBs and other products may pay a percentage of this rate. The current annualized rate does not guarantee returns over the next 12 months.
