How to calculate seguro-desemprego in 2026
The formal-worker estimate starts with the arithmetic average of the latest available monthly salaries before dismissal.
The average is then applied to the 2026 MTE table: 80% in the first band, 50% of the excess plus a fixed amount in the second band, or the ceiling in the top band.
2026 seguro-desemprego table
This calculator uses the table effective since 2026-01-11, with a R$1,621.00 floor, bands at R$2,222.17 and R$3,703.99, a R$1,777.74 fixed amount, and a R$2,518.65 ceiling.
The source is the 2026 MTE news item, accessed on 2026-06-19. The older formal MTE page still shows a 2024 table and was not used for these values.
How many payments can I receive
The count depends on the request number and months worked in the 36 months before dismissal.
For the first request, 12 to 23 months gives 4 payments and 24 or more gives 5. Second and later requests include ranges starting at 9 or 6 months.
Who is covered by this formal-worker estimate
This estimate covers Brazilian CLT/formal workers dismissed without cause. Resignation, dismissal for cause, mutual agreement, voluntary dismissal plans, and other reasons show as not eligible from the entered data.
Indirect termination keeps the formula visible, but it needs official, judicial, or administrative recognition before entitlement is confirmed.
Why the official result may differ
MTE and gov.br use CNIS, eSocial, request history, prior used employment links, income, benefits, and administrative processing that this calculator cannot access.
When to request through gov.br or Digital Work Card
For formal workers, the usual window runs from the 7th to the 120th day after dismissal. Use the dates to detect alerts, then confirm in the official channel.
Official sources and request
Check the request and table directly in official channels before making decisions.
