About the text comparator
The comparator shows added, removed, modified, and unchanged passages between two plain-text versions. The percentage of change adds the differing units in the selected mode, divides by the larger count of comparable units across the versions, and rounds the result, capped at 100%. It estimates textual difference, not the importance of a change.
How to compare text online
Paste the original on the left and the revised text on the right. Compare by lines (the default for documents and lists), words (terms and punctuation), or characters (short snippets); view blocks side by side or in a unified view. If needed, ignore case, trailing spaces, or blank lines, then check the summary before copying the diff or downloading the TXT. Shared links store only options by default; include texts only when anyone receiving the link may read them.
